Delay Swarm

Are you tired of only having 1-5 pan-modded delay lines? Well welcome to 6…. 6 pan-modded delay lines.

LP filter in front to prevent too much high-freq build-up, then 6 delays of descending rate (longest at the top, shortest at the bottom) being panned around the stereo field by their own lfos.

I went through and adjusted the relative rates of the delays so it creates a bit of a wash. I also inversely correlated the feedback amounts to the delay rates so the tails fall away at a similar time and you don’t have any single stragglers repeating endlessly.

Turn off individual delay lines for a more sparse ‘swarm’.

Just like most of my other patches, it’s a delay that’s kind of also sort of a reverb.

Enjoy!

Thank you for the laugh (generated by your description). I will download and explore, based on that alone.

This sounds like a fantastic way to add depth and unique textures to a track! The thought you put into those inversely correlated feedback amounts and descending delay rates is really clever. I appreciate how you’re always pushing the boundaries with delays that are practically reverbs – it reminds me of the strategic thinking you need in games like paper.io 2 to really dominate the space.
