This is a Control Voltage Converter (CVC) preset and makes no sound on Osmose or Continuum. It may be generically more useful than the few presets Osmose provides. It will work on Continuum as well but the Z+Y option is less useful in that case. It supports all 4 CVC channels (Polyphony Base 4, Priority Low – so you can somewhat predict what channels are outputting mapping to each voice you play).
It allows you to set voltage from 0 to 10V independently on W/Gate and 5V Max to 10V Max on Y/Aftertouch and Z/Pressure. It also Allows you to shift up to 3 octaves on X and finally has a “Z+Y” option that can be used to increase voltage through the aftertouch area. In the latter case. It will add up to 5V to Z, but because the CVC limits output to 10V you can think of it as adding whatever remaining voltage it takes to get to 10V from the Max you set Z at.
Macro Controllers:
i (W:0-10V): Increases your gate output from a minimum of 0V to 10V. It is set at default 5V. Unfortunately Osmose does not support Macro internal tags so you will need to look at the control to estimate voltage. There are cases where you may not want to output a gate or use a gate of a lower value so it lets you set the full range.
ii (Y:5-10V): Lets you set the maximum your Y voltage will reach on full aftertouch. Range is 5-10V.
iii (Z:5-10V): Lets you set the maximum your YZ voltage will reach at the start of the Aftertouch area. Range is 5-10V.
iv (Oct-Up): Lets you transpose up to 3 octaves
v (Z+Y): Used to add up to 5V to whatever your maximum Z value is set to. This allows you to have a full pressure voltage response through the full key press on the Osmose. On Continuum it will increase Z voltage as you move up Y so it’s not that useful. Ideally you set your max Z pressure range to some value and then set this to make up for the difference, but because the CVC limits output at 10 V, if you have Z set to 8 and Y adds 5V, the output will still be the max 10V. So just think of this add adding whatever is needed to Z at max to get full 10V at max key press.
