Compressor w/ Threshold Meter (empress compressor approximation)

This patch is a compressor w/ threshold meter and A/B (dry/wet) switch.

The value module located at the top-right of the main”METER & CTRL” page turns up the signal going into the compressor and lowers the threshold at the same time as the value is increased, which is meant to keep the levels relatively consistent as adjustments are made. The levels are most consistent when the compressor is set to 4:1.

For guitar and other lower level signals a higher value on the module tends to work better, but for louder signals its best to keep the value module in the lower half of it’s range. When the value module is set to minimum it is +12dB into the compressor, when it is set to maximum it is +24dB.

I’ve included an “A-B” switch (UI button) on the right side of the middle row:
RED=compressor/meter ON
WHITE=compressor/meter OFF (dry signal only)

The value module that adjusts the input volume/ threshold also adjusts the dry signal volume to keep it closer to the compressor’s output volume. Setting a higher ratio on the compressor throws this off slightly.

The threshold meter is located on the bottom row of the main page. The audio input and output/gain control is on the top row of the main page and the compressor is below it.
