Inspired by, but not trying to replicate, Boss AC 3 Acoustic Simulator. Includes 12 string mode :)
There is probably room for improvement here, but I like the result so far, so here it is. Let me know if you have some ideas to improve it or come up with your own version of it. This is one of the patches I actually use all the time when I play cleans on my electric guitar. I feel it works with strumming the chords, playing melodies and finger picking etc.
The basic idea is quite simple.
Zoia layout:
Audio In –> Tone Control (cut the mid frequencies and boost the highs) –> Chorus (tune to your own preference) –> Ghost Reverb (quite default with 10% mix, tune if needed)
From here on the signal is split in two:
1 –> Audio Out
2 –> Pitch Shifter (activated by the left Stomp Switch to get the 12 string effect) –> VCA (Out Switch from page 1 is connected to the VCA
s level) –> Audio Out
The VCA’s level (which is basically the 12 string effect signal amount or mix with the “acoustic” signal) is controlled by the signal strength from Out Switch from page 1.
The Out Switch is controlled/activated with the left Stomp Switch.
Other info:
Depending on your setup (guitar, amp, speaker, where Zoia is in the chain etc.) it seems to help overall to maybe add some compression to the dry signal (or maybe later in the chain) and in general boost the lows and highs and cut the middle frequencies.
