Inspired by Hakon Soreide physical modelling video I wondered what would happen in I applied the resonator idea to guitar input.
The frequency of the filter in the resonator is set by a pitch detector, which is then quantized: I wanted a bit of stability.
The resonator output is then passed to 3 granular loopers and fed into a compressor and then out through a reverb.
At anyone time two granular loopers are frozen and one plays. These get switched when a new note/pitch is detected.
The particle position of the loopers is swept by a ramping LFO. The LFOs rate can be modulated by a second sine wave LFO.
Controls are all on front page:
– Sweep Range: Controls the range of the granular particle position sweep
– Sweep Rate
– FM Rate
– FM Depth
– Filter Offset: Add or subtract a frequency amount from the resonator filter. If zero the resonator frequency matches the quantized input frequency
– Particle size: Set this low for some really nasty atonal sounds
– Reverb Mix
