Busy in Japan

I was watching a video about modern Japan and was struck by the coexistence of the old and new, the calm and the frenetic. I’ve never been to Japan and perhaps it’s not really like that. It’s certainly a common western perception. Anyway, this dichotomy was what inspired this rather silly little piece.

The shamisen sound that start and end the piece is an impression and not intended to be a faithful reproduction and the tuning rather random. Apologies to any devotees of the instrument!

For those interested, a couple of technical notes:

This was the my first use of the much vaunted PatchMaster from MindMeld. Baby steps, but very handy for a cross fade.

Split and Merge work well with the Entrian Melody for separating parts. Left right and middle hand so to speak.

Thanks for listening and feedback is always welcome.
