Buchla Modules 1.0

Here’s another release containing a few Buchla-Drambo related things I’ve been working on.

— Buchla Music Easel Modules—
—————————————————
I have finally finished a long-term rebuild of my Buchla Easel patch into Drambo racks. I don’t consider this a replacement for the simulator (see here:
https://patchstorage.com/buchla-music-easel-simulator/ ) but an alternate version that should be easier for Drambo-phillies to operate and remix into their own projects. For those with familiarity with the real instrument, I think the original simulator may actually still be easier to use.

The patch comes wired to act like the actual instrument but it follows Drambo’s natural signal chain, rather than attempting to spatially replicate the real instrument.

All of the components of the instrument have been rebuilt as discrete Racks, containing both the controls and logic, with standard Drambo inputs and outputs. In an effort to make things as compact as possible, all of the sliders have been replaced with knobs, and foldable sections separate clusters of controls so that you can hide controls you aren’t using.

This version should also be easier to wire up to midi hardware or a separate full-screen midi interface (eg TouchOsc, etc), which was the original intent. I’ve started noodling on that but haven’t gotten very far yet.

___________________________

You’ll also find some very early work I’ve started, building the Easel modules up into something that could start to replicate some of the capabilities of Buchla 200 modules. I started with 3 modules: the 258, 281 and 292. I’ve been using the Tip-Top Eurorack version as my guide (https://tiptopaudio.com/buchla/) so referencing the manuals and demos of the real hardware may be useful in decoding the behavior.

There are two patches— Beta 1.0 is just the modules by themselves. There is also a patch example that you can look at to see how they might be combined in a play-able instrument.
