Updated for Firmware 4.2.

Auto Reverse is a 4 voice, polyphonic sample player controlled with midi. Just pop samples into each Deck (voice) and they’ll be turned into a polyphonic instrument. Piano sample included. What makes Auto Reverse a little different is that the fourth voice is played in reverse. It adds an interesting texture to chords or can add a little tension building moment to melodies. Reverse can be turned off with the left footswitch. If you want to turn Auto Reverse to manual reverse, change the footswitch from latching to momentary.

EFFECTS
Leaning into the lofi nature of pitched samples, Auto Reverse includes a few effects: filter cutoff to control the brightness, random pitch warble to add character, bit crushing for a little sizzle and reverb to help with sustain.

SAMPLE PREP
Individuals samples have to be loaded into each deck (pages 2-5). This sample player pushes ZOIA’s DSP to its limits, so I recommend keeping the sample files small, 10 seconds or less. I’ve included a piano sample (C4-Nannys-Grand) using the classic sampling technique of pitching the sample up an octave to reduce file size and pitching it back down in the sampler. This technique also adds a little lofi character to the sample. If you want to get creative you could load different samples into each deck. Bonus: I created a lofi sample processor called Fast Forward that allows you to process samples directly in ZOIA. I’ll try adding a direct link in the comments.

NOTES 0.2
This is my first “complete” patch on the ZOIA, so if you notice any bugs let me know. Firmware 4.2 seems to have fixed my main performance issues. I converted the entire signal path to mono until it hits the reverb, which adds some stereo width. So far the patch has been very stable. Thanks for checking it out!
