An ambient sound experiment inspired by the natural world.
Welcome to the jungle; I patched up a bunch of generative, self-playing synth elements that mimic insects, birds and monkeys. A little tribute to Sir David Attenborough’s lifelong efforts.

[OVERVIEW]
-Input/Output: Stereo dry through, the generated sounds are stereo out.
-CPU load: Around 98%

[PATCH STRUCTURE]
The sound source is mostly a single Noise module going into a bunch of filters, where each filter represents one ‘animal’ group. The monkey is the exception, that’s a Triangle Oscillator straight into a VCA.
Every filter and/or VCA is modulated by a bunch of LFOs and some Random modules, all going into a Multiplier to create the specific type of animal which can be toggled on/off by a pushbutton. To prevent things from becoming a constant blur of noises when enabled the multipliers are also triggered periodically by some comparators, organizing events into reoccurring bursts.
There’s also a few delays for the insect sounds, and at the end there’s a Hall reverb to bring everything together.

[CONTROLS]
The only controls are some toggle pushbuttons on PAGE0 and are labeled and starred (see below for a “Picture Manual” in the comments). The Stereo Output module with gain parameter and the reverb are on PAGE1. Stomp switches have no function.

[THOUGHTS/IDEAS/PLANS]
This was a fun little patch, built in about an hour and tweaked some more after many enthusiastic responses. I thought it would be nice to make it into a little series (not necessarily just from me), and make an ocean patch, a windy plains patch, maybe some other insects (a beehive?). So… go for it folks!
