*Requires Zoia Firmware 5.0!*

Arpeggiscaper is my attempt to create an arpeggio effect that does not require extensive scrolling, knob-turning or menu-diving to input custom settings – something that I feel is a weakness of most such pedals currently available. The patch also includes a slew of time-based effects, tap tempo, a master clock, arp size adjustment, a reverse toggle, and freeze functionality via the centre footswitch.
I have built this patch using the audio routing from “Arpverb Unplugged”, released by dinre in 2024. You can see that patch here: https://patchstorage.com/arpverb-unplugged/

Key description:
(See the image for this patch for the key diagram that this section is referring to.)
The basic workflow of inputting notes into Arpeggiscaper is as follows:
1) Use the tone panel to select which tone (from the six in the arpeggio) you want to edit.
2) This section of the UI panel represents the white (2nd row) and black (1st row) keys of a keyboard! Select an *interval* from the keyboard. The note that is returned by the arpeggiator for the selected tone will be the same *interval* from the note you’ve inputted as the key you pressed is from C. I promise that this is far more intuitive than it looks via text…
Example 1: You are inputting a G into the arpeggiator. Pressing “D” on the keyboard will return an A from the arpeggiator, because D is a major 2nd above C, and the patch transposes your G by this interval up to an A.
Example 2: You are inputting a Bb into the arpeggiator. Pressing “G” on the keyboard will return an F from the arpeggiator, because G is a perfect fifth above C, and the patch transposes your Bb by this interval up to an F.
3) If you want to adjust the octave that this note is played in, use the octave up or down buttons after selecting your pitch interval. (Or before, doesn’t matter)
4) If you want to change another tone, select a new tone to save your input. If you don’t, press FINISH EDIT. Your input in steps 2) and 3) are instantly implemented by pressing one of these buttons.
Other controls:
A) filter controls (bandpass)
B) Arpeggio size selector (0-25%: 3 tones. 25-50%: 4 tones. 50-75%: 5 tones. 75%+: 6 tones)
C) Reverse toggle
D) Clock speed (also affects tap behaviour (X) and arpeggio freeze pattern (Y))
E) Reverb controls
F) Shape and sustain controls, to determine whether the arpeggio output is spiky, smooth, sustained, interrupted etc.
G) Arpeggio delay feedback level
H) Output volume controls
P) Presets 1-4. Instantly implemented upon pressing a preset button. You can then adjust individual tones from the preset, if desired, using the UI keyboard process described above. These changes are not saved.
Q) Turn to Page 1 of the patch to access the preset selection controls. These are editable via the scroll wheel rather than the UI keyboard. Note: A2 is unison/no pitch shift, so A3 is an octave up, E3 is a perfect fifth, etc. Save the patch to save your new presets.
X) Tap tempo
Y) Freeze controls. Tap once to freeze the running arpeggio in place, possibly introducing some overlapping depending on the position of CLOCK SPEED (D). Tap again to merge the arpeggio into a single, static chord. In either of these modes, the input is disconnected and you can play over it as if the pedal was bypassed. Pressing a third time will resume normal operation and you will need to resume feeding Arpeggiscaper an input for it to make you an arp.
Z) Effect bypass

Caveats:
-Your Zoia must be updated to Firmware patch 5.0, lest it runs out of DSP and explodes.
– After activating “Arpeggio freeze” mode (Y), you will need to keep feeding input to the arpeggiator for the length of one tap tempo cycle, in order for your frozen arpeggio to be a consistent volume. The effect is, however, programmed to automatically shut off this signal at the correct time to avoid overlap.
