Aleatoric Strings

Any one that has used 8Dio’s CAGE Strings or Spitfire Audio’s Albion IV Uist in their compositions might appreciate this patch.

The random durations (and granular pitch changes) are courtesy of the random voltage module. The random output controls the VCLFO frequency and the pitch (V/Oct) of Clouds. The VCLFO in turn clocks the Sequencer 16. Note that in order to get discrete gates, alternate gates are turned on as consecutive gates do not re-trigger and are treated as legato).

Braids provides the swarm of 7 sawtooth waves VCO and the Korgasmatron II VCF is run with A and B in series to give a 18db/oct lowpass. The ADSR is shared between the VCF’s A and B sections and with the VCA.

The VCA output goes to the Clouds left channel, and also to a delay chain of 3 seconds which is then fed to the Clouds right channel. As well as granular processing, Clouds also provides some reverb.
