My entry for the Mindmeld VCV Rack Competition 2021.

I started out with Drum Synthesis and out came this disco-esque beat so I stuck with it.

I had a lot of fun designing all the sounds from scratch, applying filtering in Shapemaster and using µMeld to animate different knobs for pitch and modulation.

As I don’t have the Pro Version of Shapemaster, I came up with a time based tempo of 2.5 seconds per bar and then used multiples or divisions of that to create different note lengths / rhythms etc.
The end result was a 4-8 bar loop with a few different layers of drums, bass, chords, leads and fx.

To create the full arrangement I used Shapemaster to control the volume of the MixMaster Channels over the whole 03m20s of the track (80 Bars).

Yes, it’s a little CPU intensive =)
