Insert Mode Program. Configured for Parallel Routing (default), or Series Routing (optional). Thicker, with a room-like buildup of delay times in Series. Program Mix 45-55% (via EXP1). Programmed for stereo use. Diatonic alongside Mod Delay.
Deceptively simple bread ‘n’ butter Program, using complex parameter interactions. This reflects one more step in my arduous quest for the “perfect” doubletracked guitar. Two very short delays, coupled with slightly longer modulated delays.
The Diatonic half may have better tracking using single note lines inside of its Key & Scale (configurable). Yet the Quant parameter adds an often pleasant, Scala-like detuning to most chord shapes and extra-scalar notes. I’d stay away from something like Em11-aug7, or adjust Diatonic to an appropriate Key / Scale. I use it as-is (at least as accurate as some of the 2nd leads I’ve played with).
EXP1 is the primary driver of this ADT simulation. Expression pedal action introduces slight variations of Pitch Mix, Delay Mix, Delay A, Delay B, Mod Depth, Mod Speed, and Filter in either or both effects, plus the Program Mix dry/wet balance. EXP2 (optional) operates as a fade-in volume pedal. Sweeps In Gain from -60.0 dB to 0.0 dB (saved at Toe).
All three HotKnobs are pre-programmed for making fine adjustments to several of the effects. Customize the sound, using these variations:
* [P] HotKnob (+/-) – adjusts Feedback A & B in Diatonic and Mod Delay [default=5].
* [A] HotKnob (+/-) – changes Pitch A & Pitch B in Diatonic [default = 50 (Unison)].
This adjustment can be used as a doubling pitch shifter. Range of (+/-) 2 octaves.
* [B] HotKnob (CW) changes the Mod Shape in Mod Delay (single / double) [default = 80].
Other options include the LEARN key for Diatonic, and momentary or latching REPEAT, for freeze-droning the short Mod Delay buffer. HS1 momentarily injects all long Delay times with Feedback, with wide ‘pitch’ bending until it settles down. HS2 uses added Feedback to the base settings for a unique, deep, and swampy modulation effect. Extreme doubletracking, with a side order of motion sickness.
See the Program Notes for more information on the PERFORM switch mappings.
