I’ve looked at a bunch of patches from the past couple of weeks and most of them come up garbled when I open them in PD (the objects are all arranged in columns, often overlapping, with connections going all over the place).
I’m wondering if there has been a change in PD’s file format (I currently have 0.55.2 installed on my computer), or if they have been minimized somehow (looks as if common subexpressions might have been extracted, for example)? Or is it some kind of AI slop?
I’m guessing it’s AI slop
It’s almost definitely AI, judging from the pace of new patches being added. Some of them seem cool/functional but I imagine troubleshooting or altering them would be very difficult. I’m personally fine with people trying to use those tools to do interesting stuff within reason (I myself can’t code at all but played with using an AI to add an 8bit/mulaw output bitcrush on a patch i liked, which worked after a ton of iteration), but it might be good for people to note if a patch was partially coded by AI just to make it clearer.
Yeah, AI is very, very good at pure data now. I was amazed when I tried something, as it used to be a way off even a year ago.
