This patch contains a synth that connects two physical modeling concepts with a feedback mechanic to create organically evolving, pitch tracked sounds.
Stage one is a rotation matrix, stage 2 is an impedance junction (Kelly-Lochbaum Junction).
A couple of tips:
The drive controls the sustain. Modulate the knobs in the FBK mods section while holding a note to create different feedback effects.
The morph knob distributes the energy between stage 1 and stage 2. its effect is coupled to the junction knob setting. When junction is centered, the two emulated tubes have the same impedance, which means that it acts as a single unit.
The stereo knob uses the current rotation to spread the output in the stereo field.
I’m interested to hear your thoughts on this. I think it would be interesting to play with an MPE controller.
Keep in mind that like the rotation waveguide patch, drambo can occasionally crash.
some of the controls:
External: switches between the internal impulse generator and an external source.
Decay: sets feedback amount of the delay line
Damping: sets the low pass filter inside the feedback loop of the delay line
Rotation: controls the angle at which the signal gets rotated between the delay lines of stage 1. zero means both act completely separate. at max, 100% of the energy is bouncing between the delay lines.
Tension: an all pass filter to simulate string stiffness/inharmonicity
Junction: controls the size ratio of the two tubes in stage 2
pitch offset: sets the pitch offset for delay line Y (from the pitch input/delay line X)
Invert: flips the phase of the delay line
morph: distributes the energy between the two stages (0 = waveguide, 1 = impedance junction)
