Sparkly FM bell sound with a little bit of dirt.
The Vult Opulus FM (retro fm operator) module is pretty self contained with its own reverb and a large number of presets (see the right click menu – Preset sub menu). So the aim of this patch is to explore a few modulation options including the morph feature.
Tip: rather than using the shape, env, m1 and m2 buttons I always use the right click menu to set all of the many options available.
Midi provides the v/oct, gate and velocity for Opulus. The Opulus morph slots have been set with varations of level-1. The LFO sine is used to transition between them. The Random module’s step is used for the modulation-1 (M1) input to vary attack-1 (see right click menu options for M1 to see the routing).
In Opulus the vibrato and tremolo options are used for both FM operators (oscillators) to give a more glittery sound.
The Opulus envelope out (set to the env-1 output in the right click menu options) is used to modulate the Boomstick Sallen-Key filter’s cutoff. Finally a delay is used for a stereo output, with a chorus (Jorus) before being served up on a dirty plate.
