**LARSEN // CAYLEY — generative feedback + octonion cross-mod noise engine**

A self-playing Pure Data instrument built entirely from vanilla objects — no external libraries required. Four voices are cross-mixed by a spinning rotor (an octonion-multiply-flavored modulation scheme), fed into a **Larsen feedback loop** — a modulated delay and resonant filter run at or past unity gain, the same runaway-squeal principle behind mic-into-speaker feedback or a “Larsen effect” pedal — then pushed through driven distortion and a from-scratch Schroeder reverb (4 comb filters + 2 allpass stages).

Nothing needs to be plugged in or played: the patch seeds itself and starts making sound the moment DSP is turned on. Turn on `ENGINE` to let the pitch, delay, and filter parameters wander on their own — it never quite settles into the same tone twice.

**Features:**
– 4-voice generative oscillator bank with independent random-walk pitch drift
– Rotor-driven cross-modulation mix (spin rate + cross-mix depth controls)
– Self-oscillating Larsen feedback loop with a wandering delay time and filter frequency
– Driven distortion stage with dry/wet blend
– Full Schroeder reverb built from scratch (comb + allpass), no external reverb object
– Built-in safety limiter and a PANIC button to instantly kill runaway feedback
– 100% vanilla Pd — no externals, no extra libraries to install

**Requirements:** Pd vanilla (tested on 0.56.5). No additional libraries needed.

**Controls:** ENGINE (start/stop modulation), PANIC (kill feedback), SPIN, CROSS, LARSEN FEEDBACK, DISTORTION DRIVE/MIX, REVERB MIX, OUTPUT GAIN.
