Using two square waves tuned to different frequencies as gate signals, I feed both gate signals as inputs to a logical AND gate. The output is a gate signal that is in some sense “in sync” with whatever the two rhythms your square waves are tuned to. This leads to interesting interference patterns, as demonstrated by this patch.
