This is an eight-step sequencer built from logic gates. First I made a toggle flip-flop out of logic gates. Then I chained 3 of them to make a 3-bit binary counter. I added more logic gates to select each of the 8 possible bit patterns, to turn on one of 8 gates. I use the gates here to pluck Sapphire Elastika tuned 8 different ways.
