This Mozaic script functions as a MIDI-driven, multi-genre drum pattern and fill engine designed specifically to synchronize with your host’s transport clock. Instead of relying on a fixed, unchangeable loop, it uses structural logic rules to construct classic grooves step-by-step in real time.
How it Works Under the Hood
• Metronome Sync: The module uses Mozaic’s internal metronome engine scaled to 4 \text{ PPQN} (Pulses Per Quarter Note). This maps your host’s clock to a standard 16-step grid (4/4 time signature split into 16th notes).
• Quantized Pulse Switching: Every time your host timeline moves one 16th-note step, the script instantly updates its position (step 1 through 16), scans the position of your selector dials, and fires out precisely timed Note On and Note Off messages.

How to Setup and Use It
1. Route the MIDI Output: Inside your iOS audio host (like AUM), load this Mozaic script on a MIDI channel. Route its MIDI output destination directly into your drum sampler or instrument plug-in (e.g., Ruismaker, OneShot, or FAC Medusa).
2. Set the Target Instrument Notes: The script defaults to standard hardware drum note layouts:
• Kick: MIDI Note 49
• Snare: MIDI Note 51
• Closed Hi-Hat: MIDI Note 63
• Ride Cymbal: MIDI Note 66
(If your sampler uses different notes, change the values assigned to these four variables inside the @OnLoad block at the top of the script).
3. Trigger Playback: Press Play on your host app’s master transport. The drum sequencer will sit perfectly in sync with your project tempo.
4. Perform Fills Dynamically: Keep Dial 1 turned down to run the steady backbone loop. When approaching a section change (like moving from verse to chorus), crank Dial 1 up at the downbeat of the final bar. The module instantly maps out a complex roll or breakdown tailored to that specific genre, resetting back to the main groove when you turn the dial back down.
