This is a multi-band compressor patch for the ZOIA. Using the multi-filter module as LPF, Band Pass Filters, and HPF, the signal is split up and fed into individual compressors allowing for individualized compression to be applied to different frequencies (low, mid, high). There is a “main channel” compressor that the mixed signal is optionally fed into, that is best when used as a limiter for the mixed signal. There is also a blend-able “saturation” before the main compressor that feeds the mixed signal into an OD module for some “warmth” or crunch, much like overdriving a compressor output.
The first page is the controls, which are three rows for each of the bands of the compressor (top to bottom: high, mid, low). From left to right the controls are as follow:
– filter frequency
– compressor threshold
– compressor attack
– compressor release
– compressor ratio
– mix level / volume
– mute control (for isolating different bands)
– summed LR compressor output monitor (clipping when red)
After these three rows you will the module for the “main channel” compressor and below this the toggle control to bypass the main channel compressor; and the value control for the “saturation” blend.
The flow is fast and dirty so it could use some fine tuning. If there are any thoughts for improvements please leave them in the comments! CPU runs at about 85% in latest firmware, so there’s some headroom to clean things up.

Have you experimented with adding dynamic crossover points or adaptive filtering so the Pips NYT band splits shift based on input content? I’m wondering if that could improve transparency without increasing CPU too much.
Interesting thought. What exactly about the input would affect the crossover point? Amplitude around a relative frequency, pushed the crossover point up a little?
Also why did you paste a link to the NYT games section in the middle of the comment? lol
This patch is rad! Thanks for making and sharing. Wondering if you might have any advice on how to set the main compressor output level. Trying to make this work as a limiter at the end of an effects pedal line. With all the effects engaged the volume is too much and overpowers. Hoping to use this to set a max output level and compress the signal to not overpower everything else on stage.
Hey! Glad you’re enjoying it. Most of the time I build patches with the gain setting available on the output module, so I would look for that to set your overall gain on the entire output.
If for some reason I didn’t add that here, you should be able to add it by editing the output module and toggling the “gain” setting to make it available on your instance of the patch without disrupting anything else.
Or are you referring to the “overall” compressor that sits behind the other three bands on compression? I’d imagine there’s a gain compensation option on that compressor module as well. If not, you could set a VCA after it, before the output or drive mix module to control the overall volume pretty easily.
Let me know if this doesn’t clear things up and we can continue to troubleshoot.
