Venom 2.9 release demo – Benjolin Sequencer

I use the new Venom 2.9 Volts and Gates expanders for the Venom Benjolin Oscillator to create a 4 part autogenerative sequence. The expanders use the Rungler shift register to generate gate patterns and stepped CV. All four parts are played by the VCO Lab, which uses a new rectify shaping option for the sine output. The Benjolin with expanders is serving as its own varying clock to generate 4 related melodic sequences and 4 different gate patterns, plus triangle CV and Rungler stepped CV for modulating the sine shape and FM amount. A bit of reverb is added, but no other effects are used, not even a filter.

At the time of posting, Venom 2.9 has not yet hit the library. You can get the v2.9 binaries at https://github.com/DaveBenham/VenomModules/releases/tag/v2.9.0. But the v2.9 should hit the library soon.

Put it in the plugins-xxxx folder under your VCV Rack user folder. On my Windows machine the folder name is plugins-win-x64. The compressed plugin information will automatically be uncompressed and moved to the correct final location the next time you launch VCV. The easiest way to find your VCV user folder is to open up VCV and then select the “open user folder” option from the “Help” menu.
