I don’t know why, but whenever I end up selecting tempos and beat divisions, I always land on some power of two. It just feels right to me. This patch is an exploration in generative melody using the sQuant programmable quantizer from Sickozell and practice using some techniques I’ve learned from Omri Cohen.

While this is better than my first attempt, I know there are some things I could do differently to improve on how the melody evolves and moves. I welcome your suggestions and feedback.

UPDATE:
I edited the controls for the lead melodic voice to change some things I didn’t like in the original patch. I’ve limited the magnitude of the disjunct movement to be no more than a P5 interval. I’ve also adjusted the rate at which the pitch changes and how the envelope gates are managed. I’ll record a new video in time and update that as well.
