The recipe:
– Three sequences of different lengths and two with enough space between the notes so that they don’t interfere with each other.
– Transpose the sequences twice so that they become nine
– Copy the 9 sequences into tracks A,B,C,D of the two FOUNDRY sequencers. Every track has the same sequences.
– Assigning a track to one of the five synths via CV/GATE output (three remain free for expansion)
– Use Shapemaster to assign a sequence to a synth.
– Tab 1-8 contains the timeline for each synth.
– The Y value determines the sequence. The best way to change it is to Ctrl-Shift-click.
– Sequence 1 is empty, so no sound is played.
– Tab 8 controls the drum sequencer
Important: SYNC-SQ# must be set in FOUNDRY-X so that the new sequence begins after the old one has ended.
I know – there is also a song mode in FOUNDRY. But I think shapemaster makes things clearer.
Since I recently owned a Behringer Model D and really appreciate it, I was happy to see that something similar is also available in VCV: MOCKBA MODULAR V and PROTON. They sound different than Model D but the principle is the same.
Since these are premium modules, the patch is also available with free modules from MOCKBA.
