This time I wanted to build something that sounds like drone music. I also wanted to finally try the new chord-key module of Impromtu Modular, which I built into the first sequence. I used the octave signal coming from the Sample & Hold module to modulate the Index control. This may be a bit unusual, but it seems to work. According to the Scope, random signals between 0 and 2 volts arrive at the controller, so I managed to get the controller to take random positions and select random chords that I configured before. For the drone sounds, I simply used VCOs with a low frequency, modulated at some points and added some effects to make it sound more interesting. The Macro Oscillator with the VOWL configuration sounds a bit like a Tibetan monk. I just like the modules from Audible Instruments. You get really nice sounds with them. I discovered the moped sound by accident this morning while playing around with Macro Oscillator 2 and Vowel and speech synthesis and I thought I’d put it on the livestream today :)
I think this is the first time I used so many modules at once. I hope this won’t cause any problems on your PC if you want to open the file in your rack. Otherwise try to delete some effects and the meters at the top of the mixer. The modules to the right of the mixer are not really needed, they just make the faders go up and down.
