4×4 midi matrix

This is a 4 input, 4 output matrix mixer for midi sources and targets. The knobs control the velocity of the different midi inputs, so it’s best suited to dynamic instruments with a range of velocity sensitivity (but not necessarily just for instrument volume).

Each column of knobs controls the velocity of the four midi inputs (1,2,3,4) routed to the four midi outputs (A,B,C,D). When the knob is all the way counter clockwise or in the minimum position, the gate signal is muted and no midi is passed through.

This can be used to take input from different Drambo tracks, midi modules or midi AUV3, or even external midi signals. On the output side, it could output to different drambo tracks, midi instruments or drambo patches on the same track, or external devices. For sending midi to other drambo tracks, remember to set the track midi mode to ‘receive’. Again, it shines when the outputs are sensitive to velocity. If incoming velocity values are not maximum, that will affect the outgoing midi messages.
