tcs.cc v1.4 - PAGE GUIDE (English)
==================================
(version française : LISEZMOI-PAGES.txt)

Every page, every setting. Measurements, sources and history: README.txt. "(source)" = from a document cited in the
README (Frippertronics, Morphagene, Basinski); "vcs.cc" = taken from vcs.cc; otherwise ranges and curves are CHOICES.
[brackets] = factory value.

GENERAL
  Encoder turn = page (wraps 9 -> 1); press = Organelle menu.
  AUX / footswitch / CC64 = looper on the active layer: empty -> REC -> PLAY -> DUB -> PLAY ...; hold 1 s = erase.
  Header: page, 6 small squares = the 6 layers (filled = playing; hollow = recorded but silent; dash = empty; underlined = active layer),
  state (--- REC PLY DUB; inverted = REVERSE), "n/9".
  Keys: low C to F = active layer 1-6 (MULTI: short = mute / unmute, long = layer to record); F# = REVERSE; G to B = head speed in semitones while held (middle C = SPEED).
  Soft takeover after a page change. Settings saved 2 s after the last move (tcs-etat-v14.txt).
  To start: press AUX, play, press AUX (the loop plays); press again to overdub (DUB); raise HF.LOSS and EROSION
  (WEAR page): the loop sounds worn and is intact again at 0. To age it for good: DUB + REINJ.

1 LOOP LENGTH play window: the head only plays the first LENGTH seconds of the recording; the tape is not
            touched | DUB share of the old content kept each pass in
            DUB, 85 % = -1.4 dB per pass (Frippertronics return level, source) [85 %] | REINJ head output back into
            the tape during REC / DUB (bounded) [0] | DRY/WET constant power, WET = no direct sound at all (nor its effects) [D50/W50]
2 HEAD      H.LEVEL [100 %] | SPEED -2..+2, STOP at centre, detents at 0 and +/-1 (Vari-Speed, source) [x1] | H.POS
            distance behind the record head, 100 % = one pass [100 %] | H.INERT 5 ms-5 s (tape start / stop) [200 ms]
3 WEAR on playback (the tape is not rewritten, nothing accumulates; all at 0 = the original loop): HF.LOSS 7 kHz -> 800 Hz low-pass [0] | EROSION soft passages
            vanish, the strong core stays (Basinski, source) [0] | DROPS random dropouts that stay [0] | HISS
            -90..-50 dBFS added per pass [0]
4 DRIFT     L.WOW 0.5 Hz [0] | L.FLUT 6.8 Hz [0] | DRIFT slow random speed drift [0] | L.SAT tape saturation per pass [0]
5 INPUT     IN.GAIN -12..+24 dB [0] | IN.SRC L / R / L+R (jack or internal mic via the hardware selector; mono cable =
            L; L+R adds both channels) [L+R] | IN.HPF OFF, 20-400 Hz, 12 dB/oct [60 Hz] | IN.GATE OFF, -90..-30 dBFS
            (keeps mic hiss out of an endless loop) [OFF]
6 DELAY (inspired by the Chase Bliss MOOD MkII and Habit; after the loop, never changes it)
            DELAY dry/wet [DRY = off] | D.TIME 40 ms-2 s, glides like tape [283 ms] | D.FDBK, 100 % = repeats hold
            and stack without running away [45 %] | CHAR left TAPE (each repeat darker, wow, saturation) / centre
            CLEAN / right UP 5th then UP OCT (each repeat a fifth, then an octave higher) [TAPE 22 %]
7 REVERB (inspired by the Chase Bliss MOOD MkII and Dark World; after the loop, never changes it)
            VERB dry/wet [D75/W25] | R.TIME size and decay together 0.4-30 s, fully right FREEZE (the tail holds forever,
            nothing new enters) [6.1 s] | SMEAR multi-tap (separate echoes) to wash [70 %] | SHIM the tail climbs
            octave by octave [0]
8 OUT FX.IN what enters DELAY then REVERB: INPUT (direct sax) / BOTH / LOOP; the rest bypasses them [BOTH] |
            PRINT OFF / ON: ON = during REC and DUB only, the sax is recorded through DELAY then REVERB (their dry/wet);
            the existing loop is never sent through the effects again [OFF]
            | L.MODE SOLO (only the active layer plays) / MULTI (all non-muted layers play; layer key short =
            mute / unmute, long = layer to record) [SOLO] | VOLUME [91 % = unity gain]
9 VIEW the active layer, record head (line), play head (small mark at the bottom), "x1 P100 D85 2s" (speed,
            position, DUB, length). The 4 knobs set SPEED, H.POS, DUB and LENGTH.

FIXED (removed from the pages to keep it simple, CHOICE): head centred (H.PAN), record level 100 %, pitch bend +/-2 st, neutral
  reinjection taken before the effects, loop limiter -3 dB.
