# LOCK — parameter locks per step

A lock changes one parameter on one individual hit without changing the normal drum voice settings.

### Normal knobs

- K1 — Tone Lock
- K2 — Decay Lock
- K3 — Drive Lock
- K4 — Reverb Send Lock

### Hold AUX

- AUX + K1 — Delay Send Lock
- AUX + K2 — LFO Rate Lock

Turn a lock fully left into the OFF zone to return that parameter to the normal VOICE/MOD value.

- AUX + 1–16 — select step
- AUX + 17 / 18 — previous / next drum
- AUX + 19 — A / B / AB
- AUX + 21 — REC
- AUX + 22 — START / STOP
- AUX + 23 — hit ON/OFF
- AUX + 24 — clear every lock on selected hit

Short encoder press previews the hit with its locks applied.

---

# VOICE — design each drum

### Normal knobs

- K1 Level
- K2 Octave Tune — -3 to +2 octaves
- K3 Tone
- K4 Decay

### Hold AUX

- AUX + K1 Pan
- AUX + K2 Drive
- AUX + K3 Reverb Send
- AUX + K4 Delay Send

A parameter lock overrides these values only on its locked step.

---

# MOD — one LFO per drum

- K1 LFO Rate — 0.05–20 Hz
- K2 LFO Depth
- K3 Destination — PITCH / TONE / AMP
- K4 Drum voice

Locks can override LFO Rate, Depth and Destination on individual hits.

---

# POLY — independent timing per drum

Each drum can have its own cycle length and clock division.

- K1 Drum voice
- K2 Length — 1–16 steps
- K3 Division — 1/4, 1/8, 1/16, 1/32
- K4 Offset — 0 to LEN−1

Examples:

- Kick: 16 / 1/16
- Snare: 15 / 1/16
- Closed Hat: 12 / 1/32
- Cowbell: 7 / 1/8

This creates evolving polymetric / polyrhythmic patterns.

### AUX + wood

- 17 / 18 — previous / next drum
- 19 — A / B / AB
- 22 — START / STOP
- 23 — reset selected drum phase to step 1
- 24 — reset all drum phases and master phrase

Offset is always limited to 0…LEN−1. Example: with LEN12, maximum Offset is 11.

---

# PERF — live performance engine

### Knobs

- K1 Fill Amount
- K2 Variation Amount
- K3 Humanize — 0–20 ms
- K4 Ghost Density

### VARIATION

While the sequencer is running, hold wood key 23 without AUX. ADC1000 temporarily changes velocity, ratchets and ghost percussion. Release the key and the original groove returns immediately.

### FILL

While playing, hold wood key 24 without AUX. ADC1000 adds a temporary Snare/Tom/Crash fill. Release the key and the original pattern returns.

FILL and VARIATION are non-destructive: they do not rewrite the saved grid.

Short encoder press on PERF = START / STOP.

---

# MIDI / external drum pads

ADC1000 accepts MIDI note input. A practical starting point for an Alesis DM7X is:

DM7X MIDI OUT → Organelle MIDI IN

Common General MIDI drum notes currently mapped:

- 36 Kick
- 38 Snare
- 42 Closed Hi-Hat
- 46 Open Hi-Hat
- 41 Low Tom
- 45 High Tom
- 37 Rimshot
- 56 Cowbell
- 49 Crash

Exact pad-note assignments can vary by drum module and can be refined after hardware testing.

---

# Suggested recording setup

For a separate DM7X + Organelle recording workflow:

- DM7X L/R audio → interface Inputs 1/2
- Organelle audio → interface Input 3
- DM7X MIDI OUT → Organelle MIDI IN
- Interface USB → computer / DAW

MIDI triggers ADC1000; audio cables carry the actual sound.
