FAZRRR

This patch started as an attempt to create a simulation of a sound of bridge and neck guitar pickups being out of phase / phase shifted some degree. I’ve since realized that the one important thing missing is the fact that in a guitar it’s not only the phase in electrical terms, but in case of two pickups also their distance from each other and the fact that they pickup different part of the vibrating string, therefore also naturally being out of phase / shifted phase this way. I’ve actually used it more with synths and other input sources more than with a guitar.

The layout and routing is in the title picture. It really is a very basic effect where an All Pass Filter and clean signal are merged together. In addition there is a Phase Invert module after the All Pass Filter (before this line of the signal is merged with the clean signal) for added flexibility and it can be turned on or off. I also added an overdrive as the effect of the phase manipulation is more pronounced with it. There’s also a simple reverb (4th row, blue pixels) – I did not mark its routing in the picture for clarity but it is right before the output. The bottom row has all the controls you need: Invert ON/OFF (Aqua) , Overdrive ON/OFF (Red), Reverb ON/OFF (Dark Blue) and ALL PASS dB Gain adjustment (Pink).

The most important and strictly phase related pixels/controls are marked with a STAR in the picture: the ALL PASS FILTER Gain setting (pink pixel with a STAR in the pic, bottom row) and the INVERT ON/OFF (Aqua STAR pixel in the pic, bottom row).
