poly4th

Simple, yet cute, 4 note analog synth. Polyphony can be increased by adding (and wiring) more instances of the note subpatch.

This synth is in alpha status, the slide bars are not initialized at loading, so you’ll need to move them before it makes any sound.

This synth is part of a bigger project you can follow at opensynths.wordpress.com

man I love the sound of this! I’ve been trying to modify the patch to make it usable with the organelle but I’m new to pd and haven’t had any luck :( If someone who knows more could make this usable on the organelle I would be thrilled

    Hi Jen,

Thanks for the feedback. I don’t know the internals of the organelle, but, what’s exactly the functionality you would need to run the patch there?

    Hi Elbiter,
I played around with this a bit, sounds great! I am running into a few weird issues with certain parameters. the sound will give a noise burst. possibly the values are too high for bob?
as far as porting it to the organelle, its fairly simple. There would need to be a compiled version of bob~ since that object is not in the build of pd and is not in Critter and Guitari’s list of extended objects. I downloaded the new release of PD but I cannot find the object itself.

Anyway, hope that helps. I could do the porting but want to address those issues and see if you have a compiled version of bob~

    Keep it up!

I configured this patch for Organelle. Some of the params are hard coded , and the knobs on the Organelle are connected to the others. The bob~ I grabbed from latest Pd and compiled, it is in the patch folder.

Also tweaked the sawtooth oscillator and added a sequencer.

    Excellent job, guys :D

fuurthur: The bob~ filter comes with pd vanilla, so I guess Owen took it from the source of PD vanilla itself. The filter needs to be tuned in a future revision to avoid those noises when dealing with high cut-off and resonance values.

Owen: I’m going to look closely at your patch before going for the next version of this synth. Thanks for the tweaks.

    I’ll release v02 when time permits :)

Bit of a noob question, but does anyone know where you get bob~ from (Pd-extended Mac)
    can’t get this to run.
    Cheers,
    /S

You can compile it from the vanilla sources (or from Owen’s post above), but it will be much easier if you just run it on Vanilla. You can have both Vanilla and Extended in the same machine, I guess…

Works treat, running Vanilla and Extended, sound really nice, Thanks
